ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Drake University's Breanna Burak was named Missouri Valley Conference Women's Runner of the Week, the league announced this afternoon.

Breanna Burak, a junior from Algonquin, Illinois, placed second in the Hawkeye Invite this past weekend, finishing the 4K event in a time of 13:50.50. Burak's performance marked her second top-five finish of the season and a personal best time for the junior. As a team, Drake finished runner up at the event.
 
Evansville's James Cruse, an Australian freshman, earned the MVC Men's Runner of the Week honor.
 
Burak and the Bulldogs are in the early stages of a lengthy training phase with their next event slated for Sep. 26 at the Gans Creek Classic hosted by Missouri.
