STILLWATER, OKLA. - Drake fell to Arkansas 6-3 in its second
game of the Mizuno Classic.
The Bulldogs got on the board first with one run in the top
of the second. Erin Mollohan hit a single up the middle, scoring Molly McClelland (West Des Moines,
Iowa/Valley) who reached base on a walk.
Arkansas tied the score in the third off a triple and a
double. The Razorbacks then opened up the game in the sixth with four runs off
a grand slam by Cloer. Arkansas added
one more in the fifth to take a 6-1 lead.
Drake scored two in the seventh off a Torey Craddock (Tucson, Ariz./Salpointe Catholic) home run that
scored Erin Bly (Frankfort, Ill./Lincoln
Way East) who reached base on a single to left field. The Bulldogs had runners
on second and third with one out but were unable to capitalize.
The Bulldogs had three hits in the game, one each from Bly, Craddock
and Mollohan. Jenna DeLong (Dalton Gardens, Idaho/Coeur d'Alene) went the
distance in the loss, striking out five and giving up eight hits in six
innings.
Drake faces Cleveland State and host Oklahoma State Saturday
(March 6) at 11 a.m. and 4 p.m., respectively.
