PEORIA, ILL. - Drake sophomore Jenna DeLong (Dalton Gardens, Idaho/Coeur d'Alene) pitched a
complete-game two-hitter en route to the Bulldog's 3-0 Missouri Valley
Conference victory at Bradley Friday night.
DeLong struck out 12 batters in the victory, improving to
15-7 on the season.
Freshman Torey Craddock (Tucson, Ariz./Salpointe Catholic) hit her second home run of the
season in the fourth inning, giving Drake a 1-0 lead.
The Bulldogs, who improve to 25-16 (10-4 MVC), added two
runs in the seventh off three hits.
DeLong singled to left center and junior Carrie Hatfield (Des Moines, Iowa/East) singled through the left
side, advancing DeLong to second. DeLong reached third on an Erin Mollohan (Tinley Park, Ill./Andrew)
fielder's choice and eventually scored on a wild pitch.
Junior Kelsey Kahler
(North Liberty, Iowa/Clear Creek-Amana) connected on a single up the middle,
scoring Mandy Osborn (Blair, Neb./Blair),
who was pinch running for Mollohan.
The Bulldogs face Bradley Saturday (April 18) in a
doubleheader scheduled to begin at 12 p.m. The series with the Braves was
originally scheduled for Saturday and Sunday but was moved up a day due to
heavy rains expected in the Peoria area Saturday night into Sunday.
