AMES, IOWA - Senior Johanna Sprang (New Brighton, Minn.) tied for fifth in the non-seeded round of the pole vault to highlight action for the Drake women's track team at the Iowa State Classic on Friday (Feb. 11).
Sprang's vault of 11 feet 1.75 inches put her in a tie along with four other competitors.
Senior Beth Hamling (Council Bluffs, Iowa) was 47th in the 200-meter dash clocking in at 25.59 in a field of over 100 participants.
Fellow senior Meredith Bell (Cedar Rapids, Iowa) placed 17th in the 3,000 meter run finishing in 10:27.87.
Drake will return to action on Saturday (Feb. 12) in the final day of the ISU Classic. Competition at the Lied Recreation Center will start at 9 a.m. with the women's non-seeded mile
