What's Ahead: The Drake women's track and field team will open its outdoor season at two meets this weekend. A select group will compete Thursday, March 28 at the Central Invitational in Pella, Iowa, with a rolling schedule beginning at noon with the 100-meter hurdles.
The remainder of the team will travel to Fayetteville, Ark., to compete in the Razorback Invitational on Saturday, March 30. Competition will begin at 9:30 a.m.

Last Time Out: Senior Sarah Yeager (Ottumwa, Iowa) won the 60-meter hurdles in 8.43 at the 2013 MVC Championships on Feb. 24. The team finished eighth overall with 24 points. It was a season and personal best for Yeager and her first MVC title.
Senior Whitney Westrum (Waukee, Iowa) was fifth in the 400 meters, crossing the line in 56.21.
A Year Ago: Kirsten Lake (Parker Colo.) won the unseeded flight of the 800 meters in 2:12.28 at last season's Arkansas Invitational on Saturday, March 31 in Fayetteville, Ark. Her time was a personal best.
Marissa Smith (Ajax, Ontario) ran a personal best in the 100-meter hurdles of 14.11 to claim fifth-place while Ari Curtis was ninth in the 400-meter hurdles in 1:01.34.
Up Next: The Bulldogs will travel to Maryville, Mo. on Saturday, April 6 for the Northwest Missouri State Open.
