NORMAL, Ill. – The Drake men's tennis team garnered a trio of first-team selections when the Missouri Valley Conference Scholar-Athlete team was unveiled on Thursday (April 24).

Drake senior Robin Goodman (Cambridge, England) and juniors Ben Mullis (Leicestershire, England) and Alen Salibasic (Tuzla, Bosnia & Herzegovina) were honored with first-team recognition.

Goodman and Salibasic were each named to the first team for the second consecutive campaign, while Mullis made his debut on the All-MVC Scholar-Athlete squad.

A native of Cambridge, England, Goodman owns a 3.56 GPA in business management and has posted a 38-18 combined singles/doubles record this season. He will enter the MVC Championship riding a 10-match singles winning streak. A three-time MVC Scholar-Athlete of the Week selection during the 2013-14 campaign, Goodman owns a 188-62 career record, good for seventh all-time at Drake in combined victories.

A native of Tuzla, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Salibasic, the 2013 MVC Elite 18 winner for men's tennis maintains a perfect 4.0 GPA in international business. A two-time first-team All-MVC performer, Salibasic has recorded a 36-19 combined singles/double mark this season, including 15-6 in singles play this spring. Named a first-team Capitol One Academic All-District selection in 2013, he was tabbed to the MVC Scholar-Athlete first team a season ago. Salibasic is ranked fifth, sixth and eighth, respectively, at Drake (since 2006-07) in singles (84), doubles (59) and combined (143) victories.

A native of Leicestershire, England, Mullis maintains a 3.5 GPA in law, politics and society. A first-team All-MVC honoree this spring, he holds a 27-15 combined singles/doubles mark this season. He is seventh at Drake (since 2006-07) in singles (64) victories.

To be eligible for nominations to the MVC Scholar-Athlete teams, nominees must own a cumulative GPA of 3.20 based on a 4.0 scale and be a starter or important reserve and have played in at least 75 percent of its team's matches. Student-athletes also must have reached sophomore athletic and academic standing at their institution and have completed at least one full academic year at their respective institution.
