KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Drake women's golf team registered a final-round 340 to finish 14th at the Gary Crossley Ford Kansas City Shootout on Tuesday (April 8).
Pacing the Bulldogs' attack with a team-low 239 (84-76-79) scorecard to earn a 22nd-place effort was senior Hadley Jennings (Trenton, Mo.).
“Conditions were challenging today with the winds, but I thought Hadley (Jennings) and Danielle (Brooks) both played well, they just had a few tough holes,” Drake head coach Leanne Smith commented. “Our results were not how we wanted to play, but we are looking forward to having a full complement of players available for us this weekend at Indiana State.”
Junior Danielle Brooks (Red Wing, Minn.) fired an 81 over the final 18 holes to collect a 42nd-place finish with a 245 (88-76-81) total.
Freshman Arianna Gastelum (Chula Vista, Calif.) and sophomore Katie Clausen (Hinton, Iowa) rounded out Drake's efforts with 248 (82-82-84) and 272 (88-88-96) scorecards, respectively.
The Bulldogs return to action this Sunday (April 13) traveling to Terre Haute, Ind., to compete at the Indiana State Spring Invitational.
