SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Freshman Grace Dunn is tied for sixth-place through 36 holes at the MSU/Payne Stewart Memorial to lead the Drake University women's golf team on Monday.
“Our confidence on and around the greens was shaken early and never really recovered,” said head coach Rachael Pruett. “Grace continued her steady play with solid rounds.”
Dunn started out her day strong by shooting a 74 in the first round and followed her sub-75 round with a 77 for a total of 153. Sophomore Madison Glennie recorded a 160 (79-81), while freshmen Sophie Hill and Adrianna Elliot each carded a 164. Senior Katie Clausen rounded out the Bulldogs' effort with a 168 (84-84).
The Bulldogs registered a team score of 639 (319-320) on the first day and are in seventh-place.
“As a team we hit the ball well, and we will build on that for tomorrow,” said Pruett.
Drake wraps up play at the Payne Stewart Memorial on Tuesday for the final 18 holes.
