LAWRENCE, Kan. - The Drake University track and field teams closed out the three-day Kansas Relays with the second-fastest men's 200 meters in school history.
Kundai Maguranyanga made the historic run in 20.56 to improve upon his previous best and finish second in the Kansas Relays 200 meters. Viktor Peka also finished seventh in the event and the pair teamed up with Aaron Cheir and
Aobakwe Malau to finish third in the 4x100-meter relay in 41.46.
The men's team also had a trio of other top-10 finishes on the track with
Kevin Kelly taking fifth in the 1,500 meters in 3:57.43 followed by
Matt Cozine in eighth at 4:01.82. In the 800 meters,
Xavier Lechleitner crossed the finish line in 1:56.16 to take sixth.
In the hurdles,
Victoria Coombe continued her strong senior season by taking seventh in the women's 400-meter hurdles with a 1:03.44 finish.
The Bulldogs return home to the Blue Oval this upcoming week to compete in the annual Drake Relays presented by Hy-Vee.
