The Drake track & field team split its athletes up this weekend at the Frank Sevigne Husker Invitational at the Bob Devaney Sports Center in Lincoln, Neb. and the Iowa State Classic at Lied Recreation Center in Ames, Iowa.
"I'm very pleased with the team and staff for being able to compete very well at two different locations," head coach
Jay Koloseus said. "I always love to the Bulldogs climb the Valley and NCAA leader board even when we are separate sites."
Iowa State Classic (Feb. 4)
Isaac Basten won the men's mile with a time of 3:57.24, which ranks 16
th in the nation so far this indoor season.
Anthony Barmes moved into second in the Drake men's indoor record book with a weight throw of 67-4 ¼ for his personal best and a third place finish.
Chinemerem Iwuagwu tossed a personal best of 49- 1 ¾ in the women's weight throw for 10
th place while
Centaine Noom-Duckworth was seventh (56-0).
Chandler Haight took fourth in the women's shot put (47-11 ¼) while
Adam Phillips settled into sixth in the men's shot put (53-6 ¼).
Barbara Vrhovac just missed her PR with a time of 4:59.47 in the women's mile.
Emilie Meyer claimed second in the women's 800m (2:12.53).
Katherine Lawson demolished her previous 3000m PR by over 22 seconds finishing the race in 10:00.00.
Freshman
Juan Trasobares was ninth in the men's 3000m crossing the finish line in 8:18.58 for a PR as he just missed the top-10 of Drake's indoor record book.

Briandrias Rhodes finished eighth in the women's 200m with a time of 25.48 while
Savannah Ming logged a final time of 25.87.
Gracie Shannon cracked the meet's top-10 in ninth in the women's 600m (1:41.16) while followed by teammate
Vanessa Lee in 13
th (1:47.69).
Madysen Klebenow notched a personal record in the women's 3000m (10:49.95) while
Brendan Cain (15:00.06) and
Chris Pahnke (15:11.21) also earned PRs in the men's 5000m.
Savannah Ming matched her 60m PR of 7.84 in the preliminaries.
Drake track & field will compete next at the South Dakota State indoor classic Feb. 10-11.
