WAVERLY, Iowa – The Drake track & field team competed at the Wartburg Outdoor Select meet Sunday, April 2.
 
Adam Phillips (176-11), Austin Jentz (172-03) and Sam Carpenter (165-06) all recorded personal bests in the men's discus throw as Phillips won the event.
 
Savannah Ming (12.45) finished fifth while Rutendo Mafuta (12.66) was eighth in the women's 100m dash.
 
Madison Bunton (1:00.64) and Iris Hertting (1:00.82) finished sixth and seventh respectively in the women's 400m. Gracie Shannon finished fourth in the women's 800m after a time of 2:21.32.
 
Hayden Cross set a personal record of 49.11 in the men's 400m to finish second while Caleb Lerus (50.01) was fifth.
 
Emilie Meyer (4:32.95) turned in a runner-up finish in the women's 1500m. Wichita State transfer Carmen Krawcynski Gonzalez crossed in sixth place with a time of 4:37.24.
 
Chandler Haight was also runner-up in the women's shot put after a heave of 46-11.50.
 
The Dutch Invitational on April 7 is next on the Drake track & field schedule.
