NORMAL, Ill. – The 2023 fall campaign is officially underway as the Drake women's golf team completed play at the Redbird Invitational on Monday, Sept. 11. The Bulldogs navigated Illinois State's Weibring Golf Club (306-302-305--913) to wind up in 11th place.

Aayushi Sarkar (76-75-75--226) remained consistent throughout all three rounds to be Drake's highest finisher on the leaderboard (36th place). Newcomer Julie Huggins (76-77-77--230) concluded her first tournament as a Bulldog. 
 
Amber Henson (80-77-74--231) improved through every round and turned in Drake's lowest score of the final day. Rylee Heryford (78-73-79--230) finished one stroke ahead of Henson. Erika Holmberg (72-83-80--235) and Kate Connolly (82-77-77--236) rounded out the Drake competitors. 
 
The Bulldogs will compete on the course again Sept. 25-27 at the Johnie Imes Invitational in Columbia, Mo.
