The Drake track & field program looks to build off last week's success with this weekend's Black & Gold Invitational at the Hawkeye Indoor Track Facility in Iowa City Jan. 26-27. The meet will stream live on B1G+ (subscription required).

The Drake women's track & field team was picked ninth in the 2023-24 MVC Indoor Track & Field preseason coaches poll. Drake men's track & field was picked fifth in the 2023-24 MVC Indoor Track & Field preseason coaches poll.
School Records
During the Iowa State Holiday Invitational on Dec. 9,
Centaine Noom-Duckworth set a new school record in the women's weight throw with a heave of 18.99m (62-3 3/4).
Adam Phillips won the Cyclone Open men's weight throw on Friday, Jan. 19 after a school record toss of 21.61m/70' 10.75". That measurement currently ranks first in MVC and 11th in the NCAA (highest-ever NCAA ranking for a Drake weight thrower). He is also currently the highest nationally-ranked thrower in the MVC.
