ST. LOUIS -- Isaac Basten was true to form in his first official race of the 2024 indoor campaign last weekend and the Missouri Valley Conference took notice naming him MVC Men's Track Athlete of the Week on Thursday, Feb. 8.
Basten broke the Lied Recreation Athletic Center men's mile facility record previously owned by former teammate Adam Fogg to win the event at the Iowa State Classic with a new facility best of 3:56.48 on Saturday, Feb. 3.
The Drake track & field squads are split this weekend Feb. 9-10 at the Tyson Invitational in Fayetteville, Ark., and the David Hemery Valentine Invitational in Boston.
