BOSTON, Mass. – Making another appearance at the NCAA Indoor Championships, Drake University student-athlete Isaac Basten competed in the men's mile semifinal at the Track at New Balance on Friday afternoon. 
 
With three laps to go, Carson Williams of Furman tripped and Basten nearly avoided him, but collided with Williams and fell. Even after being knocked down, Basten got right back up and managed to finish the mile with a time of 4:10.87. That time put him 13th overall and did not qualify for the final.
 
The Drake track & field team now officially shifts its focus to the outdoor season.
