TERRE HAUTE, IND. -- Drake sophomore Casey McDermott (Newton, Iowa) was third in the 1,500-meter run in 4:31.82 at the State Farm Missouri Valley Conference Women's Outdoor Track and Field Championship Sunday. Drake senior Nicole Braunsdorf (St. Francis, Wis.) placed fifth in 4:32.91.
Braunsdorf was also fourth in the women's 5,000 in 17:32.42. McDermott was 13th in the race in 17:56.26.
Sophomore Cambria Pardner (Aurora, Colo.) finished seventh in the women's triple jump at 38 feet 5.5 inches.
Drake sophomore Kara McCartney (Elgin, Iowa) was seventh in the women's 800 in 2:21.50.
Drake junior Caitlin Able (Aurora, Colo.) was eighth in the women's 400 in 58.21, while junior Deidra Dirth (Apple Valley, Minn.) was eighth in the discus at 147-10.
Able, Pardner, along with sophomores Ari Curtis (Fort Collins, Colo.) and Beth Hamling (Council Bluffs, Iowa) led the Bulldogs to a seventh-place finish in the 4x100 relay in 48.26.
Able, Curtis, Hamling and McCartney also led Drake to a sixth-place finish in the 4x400 relay in 3:52.86.
