CAPE GIRARDEU, Mo. – Madison Glennie earned top-18 flag honors to lead the Drake University women's golf team at the Missouri Valley Conference Championship on Tuesday at the Dalhousie Country Club in Cape Girardeau, Mo.
 
"Madison hung in there and made a late birdie to get her to four-over for the day and a top-18 finish. She's been a consistent performer for us and I'm excited to see what she accomplishes next year," said Drake head coach Rachael Pruett.
 
Glennie, a junior from Clearwater, Fla., fired a four-over par, 76, to finish in 17th-place with a score of 232 (79-82-76).
 
Freshman Sigurlaug Jonsdottir, who led the team in the first two round, carded an 88 for a total score of 244 (78-78-88). Sophomore Grace Dunn registered the second-best round of the day for the Bulldogs, shooting an 80 for a 54-hole total of 252 (85-87-80).
 
"It was good to see Grace have a better day. She battled some tough personal memories this week and I'm proud of her finishing strong," said Pruett.
 
Junior Nicole Blanchard and freshman Aimee Gerschke each ended their first MVC Championship with a total score of 259 to round out the team's performance.
 
As a team, Drake finished in 10th-place with a total score of 988 (325-331-332).
 
 "We just didn't execute this week. As a team, we have to learn to minimize mistakes and compete. We don't want to end our season like this again and will use this as motivation. I will push this team like never before so we are competing for an MVC title," said Pruett.
 
Missouri State won the tournament by 20 strokes over second-place Wichita State with a score of 913 (302-314-297).

The MVC Championship marked the final event in the Bulldogs' 2017 season.
