CHICAGO -- The Drake University track & field program saw multiple student-athletes earn spots on the podium and move onto finals during day one of the Missouri Valley Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships at Gately Park on Sunday (Feb. 26).
Drake's men's distance medley relay team of
Aidan Simon,
Dyer Jarabek,
Jack Burns and
Isaac Basten took the gold with a time of 10:07.01.
The Bulldog men's weight throwers claimed silver and bronze with
Anthony Barmes (66-05.75) finishing second.
Adam Phillips' furthest throw was 64-08.50 for third place.
Ethan Marshall came in sixth with a weight throw of 62-04.50.
Centaine Noom-Duckworth finished eighth in the women's weight throw with her personal record of 57-06.50.
Brooke Mullins earned a spot on the podium with a third place finish in the women's 5000m with a time of 16:42.71. In the men's 5000m,
Enzo Marie crossed in sixth.
Basten (4:11.02) qualified for the men's mile final while both
Emilie Meyer and
Hannah Behunin moved on to the women's 800m final.
Meyer (4:57.29) and
Barbara Vrhovac (4:59.31, PR) qualified for the women's mile final.
Field events will begin at 10:30 a.m. with track events to get underway at 11:30 a.m. for the final day of the MVC Indoor Championships on Monday, Feb. 27.
