CHICAGO -- The Drake University track & field programs concluded the Missouri Valley Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships with a pair of podium appearances at Gately Park on Monday (Feb. 27).
"All things considered we are pleased to walk away from the MVC Championships healthy and with some podium finishes," head coach
Jay Koloseus said. "I am especially pleased with how our women's distance performed and how our men's distance medley team took the win. It was also tremendous for
Brooke Mullins to get two top-three finishes while
Adam Phillips and
Anthony Barmes got to the podium in the weight throw. It was also awesome to see
Isaac Basten become MVC champion in the mile. The coaching staff and myself are excited to move toward the outdoor season which even better suits our team."
Isaac Basten became the MVC men's mile champion with a time of 4:13.34, nearly a second ahead of the second place finisher.
