Drake Track and Field Team, Individuals Featured Among USTFCCCA All-Academic Honorees

Stellar work in competition and the classroom garners national recognition

NEW ORLEANS, La. – Four Drake men's athletes and three Bulldog women's competitors were named to the 2024 NCAA Division I Track & Field All-Academic list by USTFCCA while both teams were recognized for their overall academic success.
 
Hammer throw All-American Anthony Barmes (business), back-to-back All-American Isaac Basten (business), distance runner Aziz Jdai (athletic training), and thrower Adam Phillips (music) represented the Bulldog men.
 
On the women's side, hammer throwers Chinemerem Iwuagwu (undecided) and Centaine Noom-Duckworth (physics), were joined by MVC 800m medalist Emilie Meyer (biology).
 
Both Drake men's and women's teams received proper recognition for their commitment to athletics and academics. As a group, the Bulldog men posted a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 while the women had a collective mark of 3.46.
