WAVERLY, Iowa – Bulldog cross country went on the road to the Dan Hutson Invitational for another competitive race yesterday. The Bulldog men finished eighth as a team while the women took 12th collectively.
Gaven Corpin ran a personal record time of 26:13.7 in the men's 8k race to lead the official Bulldog entries.
Luke Smith and
Landon Bendgen also posted top 75 placements with times of 27:08.1 and 27:10.0, respectively.
Jed Wilson ran 27:18.9.
Drake's
Daniel Rotich competed as an unattached athlete and took top honors in the college men's division with a time of 24:06.3.
Ewan Taylor also ran unattached and finished 17th in 25:28.2.
Other unattached competitors included
Lanse Larsen (26:16.5),
Ryan Tobin (27:05.3), and
Vaughn Larson (27:26.9).
Freshman
Sophia Agan led the Bulldog women with a 13th-place finish of 23:06.1.
Ashley Gaba (25:13.4) and
Fabi Gipson (25:23.8) went back-to-back in 67th and 68th place, respectively.
Gracie Federspiel paced 25:39.6 to round out the Bulldog entries.
The Bulldogs will be back in action on Friday, Oct. 17 in Peoria, Ill. at the Bradley Pink Classic.
